Yê-tëi Bî (/jɘ/ /ˈtëi/ [amber] [chorus]) is a subtropical Town located in Devuaja Dutchy, Mèhabicê Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Yê-tëi Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Yê-tëi Bî was founded by Berenice Glkêtê, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Yê-tëi Bî has a yearly average temperature of 22°C (71°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 24°C (75°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 20°C (68°F). Yê-tëi Bî receives an average of 131 cm/y (51 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Yê-tëi Bî covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 5854 m (19206 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Yê-tëi Bî was founded durring the late 12th century in winter of the year 1083, by Berenice Glkêtê. The establishment of Yê-tëi Bî suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Yê-tëi Bî which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Yê-tëi Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Yê-tëi Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Yê-tëi Bî is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of spacious split-log ties streets which form octogonal paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town has a defencive wall made from querried stone. The wall is equipped with a full set of battlments but the nature of its construction methodology leaves it somewhat vulnerable to siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. Yê-tëi Bî's cost-cutting-focused defences has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

Yê-tëi Bî has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Yê-tëi Bî’s streets.

Civic Infrastructure

Yê-tëi Bî has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Yê-tëi Bî. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Yê-tëi Bî's parks.

Yê-tëi Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Yê-tëi Bî.

Yê-tëi Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Yê-tëi Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Yê-tëi Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Yê-tëi Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Yê-tëi Bî possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Yê-tëi Bî's grid is powered by an arcane means.

Yê-tëi Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Yê-tëi Bî's natural decorations nor waterways.

Yê-tëi Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Yê-tëi Bî has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Yê-tëi Bî's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by their massive, monolithic and 'blocky' appearance with a rigid geometric style. It was best known for its rough, unfinished surfaces, unusual shapes, heavy-looking materials, straight lines, and small windows. Modular elements were often used to form masses representing specific functional zones, grouped into a unified whole.

In Yê-tëi Bî most nights are accompanied by colorful ribbons of light in the sky.

The Living Topiary near Yê-tëi Bî are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Yê-tëi Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves long periods of drunkenness to channel Charm energies of tier 3 via throat singing.

Yê-tëi Bî has been cursed with some blight that makes life difficult, albeit not impossible. An offended sorcerer's vengeful Working, an outraged god's wrath, a local distortion of the Legacy, or a simple history of bad feng shui in the area may have brought the curse about. Yê-tëi Bî makes use of canals for some of its streets. Locals often fish in the canals.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century the Kami solved a major long term problem plaguing the town. One of Yê-tëi Bî's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
